I am a Pretoria East Newborn Photographer and my studio is located in Equestria. I only do these styled shoots in my home based studio as I prefer to have all my props close-by during the shoot. If you want a session at your house, a lifestyle shoot will be a good idea for you =)

Styled newborn shoots are so special. I just love to capture this special time in a family’s life. Styled newborn shoots usually take about 2-4 hours, depending on the baby. It takes time to perfect those poses and change from one prop to another. I start with the newborn alone and only do the family/sibling shots right at the end.

I provide all the wraps, clothes, baskets, beds, floordrops etc for the shoot. You only have to bring your newborn to the shoot. You can choose your own colour scheme for the newborn shoot. I will try my best to match the colour scheme you prefer. Keep in mind that the colours must match my style (no harsh colours, I only use soft pastels). It is a good idea to choose a colour scheme that matches the room where you want the photos to be displayed.

Newborn safety is of utmost importance to me. I am part of INPA (International Photography Association) and will always ensure that:

  1. The studio is clean
  2. The studio is heated
  3. I never leave the newborn unattended
  4. The props that I use are safe
  5. The baby is warm and comfortable
  6. I never force babies into any pose. If I see the baby is uncomfortable, I adapt accordingly.
  7. I always shoot with a mask and use sanitizer during the shoot

Tip) It is a good idea to book your newborn shoot while you are pregnant. We can book a tentative date and you can just keep me up to date when baby is born. Styled newborn shoots need to be done within the first 5 – 12 days from birth.
