I am a Pretoria based newborn photographer and love every moment of my job. My studio is located in Pretoria East, Equestria. I offer three different types of newborn shoots: Lifestyle, Styled and Fine Art.

Here is a short description of each type of newborn shoot:

Lifestyle Newborn shoot

  • This type of shoot is a more journalistic kind of style where I don’t pose the baby in baskets, buckets or any props. I usually do this shoot in a room in your house where there is enough natural light coming through. If you feel that your house is not suitable, no worries. We can rent a natural light studio (usually about +R350 per hour extra, I will just confirm the rate). The studio that I usually rent has beautiful natural light and also a double bed mattress to take “bedroom” kind of photos.

Styled Newborn Shoot

  • These sessions are best done within the first 5-12 days from birth. With this session I style and wrap the baby in baskets, buckets and other props. I am part of INPA (International Newborn Photography Association) and newborn safety is of utmost importance to me. Your baby will always be safe in all props.
  • The styled newborn shoot usually takes place in the morning 11:00am (unless communicated otherwise) and it usually takes about 3-4 hours.
  • If you take the option newborn + parents, it is VERY important to put some effort into what you are going to wear. I highly suggest you choose a colour scheme that matches the colour scheme of the setup of the newborn shoot. Makeup is super important, so please book a professional makeup artist for the session. I do have a makeup artist that I work with that usually comes to my home studio.

Here is a list of my Pretoria maternity to newborn packages that I offer:

  1. Maternity shoot – I usually do this shoot between 28-32 weeks of your pregnancy
  2. In hospital birth – I only do c-sections
  3. Fresh 48 (in hospital) – 1 to 3 days after the birth
  4. Lifestyle Newborn shoot in your house
  5. Lifestyle Newborn shoot in a natural light studio
  6. Newborn only – Styled newborn shoot in my home studio in Pretoria East
  7. Parents with siblings – Styled Newborn shoot in my home studio in Pretoria East
  8. Fine Art Newborn photography

Ammy decided on a styled newborn shoot for Aluve. There is so much meaning in a name and I just have to share hers with you. Aluve means: TO HEAR THE CALLING OF GOD and Sariel mens: Angel of guidance. How beautiful is that! I just know that she is going to do so much Kingdom work one day. She is called by God! Her daddy is a Pastor in George and such an amazing man close to God’s heart. I had the most amazing newborn shoot with little Aluve who slept through her whole session.
