Garden Route Maternity Photographer | Mosselbay
I’m a maternity photographer based in Pretoria East, Silverlakes, in Gauteng, and I travel all over the province. Once a month, I’m also in the Garden Route area, from Mossel Bay to Plettenberg Bay. Since I love traveling, feel free to pop me a mail or WhatsApp if you’re located outside these provinces—let’s see if we can work something out!
When is the best time to schedule a maternity photoshoot?
Maternity photoshoots are ideally scheduled between 28 to 34 weeks of pregnancy, when the baby bump is beautifully rounded but before the mom-to-be becomes too uncomfortable. This time frame captures the essence of pregnancy, showcasing the natural beauty, strength, and anticipation of motherhood.
It is also a time when most expectant mothers still have enough energy to enjoy the experience without feeling overly fatigued or uncomfortable. Scheduling too early (before 28 weeks) may not showcase a fully developed bump, while waiting too long (beyond 35 weeks) can be challenging due to swelling, fatigue, and the possibility of an early delivery. Every pregnancy is unique, so it’s essential to consider your own comfort and energy levels when planning. Some mothers carrying multiples or those experiencing complications may prefer an earlier shoot, while others may feel comfortable waiting until closer to 36 weeks. Ultimately, it’s about finding the sweet spot where mom feels radiant and confident, allowing yourself to enjoy the session and create lasting memories of this transformative time.
